What Is Telehealth Therapy?
Professional Mental Health Support From Wherever You Are in Washington
Telehealth therapy, sometimes called online counseling or virtual therapy, allows you to meet with your therapist through a secure video platform rather than attending an appointment in person.
Sessions are similar to traditional therapy appointments. You'll have time to explore your experiences, discuss concerns, work toward treatment goals, and develop strategies to support your emotional well-being.
The primary difference is that you'll connect from a private location using a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.
At Inner Peace Therapy, online sessions are tailored to each client's age, developmental needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
Online Therapy for Children, Teens, and Adults
Virtual Therapy for Children
Children don't always communicate their feelings through words, and virtual therapy doesn't have to rely exclusively on conversation.
We offer developmentally appropriate online therapy for children of all ages, including younger children.
Depending on your child's needs, sessions may incorporate play-based activities, storytelling, drawing, movement, creative expression, and caregiver participation.
For toddlers, preschoolers, and other young children, caregiver involvement may be especially important in helping create a supportive therapeutic experience.
As a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist® and Supervisor, Nicole Giron, LMHC, brings specialized training in child development, emotional regulation, attachment, and therapeutic play.
We'll work collaboratively with caregivers to determine how virtual sessions can best support each child's needs.
Virtual Therapy for Teens
Teenagers often appreciate having a familiar, comfortable space to talk about what's happening in their lives.
We provide LGBTQ+ affirming online counseling for teens navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, self-esteem, identity development, peer relationships, and family challenges.
Our approach emphasizes connection, collaboration, respect, and a therapeutic relationship where teens can feel heard without judgment.
Online Therapy for Adults
Whether you're managing anxiety, navigating relationships, experiencing burnout, processing trauma, or working through life transitions, online counseling can provide meaningful support without the added travel time.
We offer individualized virtual therapy for adults seeking greater emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, connection, and personal growth.
What Can Online Therapy Help With?
Online therapy may be appropriate for many mental health concerns, including:
Anxiety and stress: Managing excessive worry, overwhelm, and everyday stressors.
Depression: Exploring difficult emotions, rebuilding motivation, and strengthening coping strategies.
ADHD: Understanding executive functioning, emotional regulation, and the impact of ADHD on daily life.
Trauma and PTSD: Processing distressing experiences using individualized, trauma-informed approaches.
Emotional regulation: Developing greater awareness of emotional responses and tools for navigating difficult feelings.
Self-esteem and identity: Building confidence, self-acceptance, and a stronger sense of self.
Relationship and family challenges: Exploring communication, boundaries, and interpersonal patterns.
Life transitions and grief: Navigating change, loss, uncertainty, and significant life events.
We recognize that every person's circumstances are different. During the consultation and intake process, we'll explore whether telehealth is an appropriate fit for your needs.
Can EMDR Therapy Be Done Online?
Trauma-Focused Treatment Without the Commute
Yes! Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can be provided through telehealth when clinically appropriate.
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that helps individuals process distressing experiences and reduce their ongoing impact.
During online EMDR sessions, Nicole may use virtual bilateral stimulation techniques adapted to the telehealth setting.
As with in-person EMDR, treatment begins with assessment, preparation, and the development of strategies to support emotional regulation.
Online EMDR isn't the right fit for every person or situation, so we'll collaboratively evaluate your needs, safety, privacy, and readiness before beginning trauma processing.

How Does Online Play Therapy Work?
Creative, Developmentally Appropriate Support Through Telehealth
Play therapy can also be adapted for virtual sessions.
Depending on your child's age and individual needs, online play-based therapy may include creative activities, drawing, storytelling, games, movement, and interactive experiences.
For younger children, sessions may involve caregivers more directly, including supporting parent-child interactions and helping caregivers respond to their child's emotional needs.
We recognize that younger children may have different attention spans, communication styles, and support needs than teens or adults.
Rather than expecting every child to participate in the same way, we individualize sessions to support meaningful engagement.
We'll discuss practical considerations, including materials, technology, caregiver involvement, and whether online or in-person treatment is the most appropriate option.
