Do You Accept Insurance?
Understanding Our Private-Pay Practice
Inner Peace Therapy is a private-pay counseling practice, meaning we do not bill insurance companies directly or participate as an in-network provider.
This allows us to focus on individualized treatment planning and collaborate with clients on their therapeutic goals.
You are responsible for payment of session fees regardless of whether your insurance plan provides reimbursement.
However, you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your insurance benefits.
Out-of-Network Benefits and Superbills
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to submit documentation to request reimbursement for a portion of your therapy expenses.
We can provide a superbill, which is an itemized statement containing information that insurance companies commonly request when reviewing out-of-network claims.
Please note that receiving a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Your insurance company determines eligibility, coverage, deductibles, and reimbursement amounts.
Questions to Ask Your Insurance Company
Before beginning therapy, consider asking your insurance provider:
Does my plan include out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?
What percentage or amount is reimbursed for outpatient psychotherapy?
Are telehealth sessions eligible for out-of-network reimbursement?
Is a referral or prior authorization required?
What documentation do I need to submit a claim?
Are there any restrictions related to the provider, diagnosis, or type of therapy?
Your insurance provider can give you the most accurate information about your specific benefits.
Sliding-Scale & Reduced-Fee Therapy
Making Space for Accessibility
We recognize that the cost of therapy can be a barrier to receiving mental health support.
At Inner Peace Therapy, we offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for individuals and families who may need financial flexibility.
Reduced-fee availability depends on current openings and individual circumstances. We cannot guarantee that a sliding-scale appointment will be available at the time of inquiry.
If cost is a concern, we encourage you to reach out and ask about current availability.
We believe conversations about finances should be met with compassion, respect, and understanding.

Payment Information
Payment is expected at the time of service unless another arrangement has been agreed upon in advance.
We will review accepted payment methods, billing policies, and financial agreements during the intake process.
Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise.
Our late cancellation and missed appointment fee is $180, subject to the terms of our practice policies and financial agreement.
Applicable cancellation notice requirements and related policies will be provided in the intake paperwork before treatment begins.
Good Faith Estimates for Self-Pay Clients
If you are uninsured or choose not to use insurance, you generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of scheduled healthcare services under the federal No Surprises Act.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services or at any time.
A Good Faith Estimate is not a bill, and actual treatment costs may vary depending on the number and type of sessions you receive.
For more information about your rights, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
